Leeds United and Norwich City linked striker Marvin Ducksch has confirmed the existence of talks with newly promoted Bundesliga outfit Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The 24-year-old striker caught the attention of many with his goals and performances for German second tier outfit Holstein Kiel, where he spent the season on loan.

He is slated to return to St. Pauli this summer, but the striker has been clear about his intention to leave the club and was linked with Leeds earlier this year, while Norwich boss Daniel Farke wants his countryman at Carrow Road.

However, Ducksch wants to play in the top tier of German football and the interest from newly promoted outfit Fortuna Dusseldorf has come at the right time for the player.

The striker confirmed the approach from Fortuna Dusseldorf and indicated his desire to join the club this summer.

Ducksch told German daily Bild: “I can confirm the talks.

“It’s an honour that a club such as Dusseldorf and a coach such as Friedhelm Funkel are interested in me.

“Fortuna are a great team, Dusseldorf is a great city.

“And my family lives in nearby Dortmund.”

St. Pauli are claimed to be demanding a fee of around €3m for Ducksch, but for the moment Fortuna Dusseldorf are only keen on forking out around €2.5m.
