Lyon captain Nabil Fekir has insisted that he is not close to joining Liverpool and stressed that he will take his time before deciding on his future.

The French attacking midfielder is believed to be one of Jurgen Klopp’s priority summer transfer targets and there were suggestions earlier this month that he has already agreed a move to Anfield.

Lyon and Fekir rubbished the claims and the Frenchman is still insistent that he is not even close to agreeing a move to Merseyside during the ongoing summer transfer window.

However, he indicated that he could be leaving Lyon in the coming months as his representatives’ have been in talks with clubs who are interested in signing him this summer.

But a move is far from finalised and he will take his own time to think and deliberate over a transfer.

“There are discussions with clubs.

"We’ll take time to think.

“I will leave time to do things.”

Fekir has been selected for France’s World Cup squad and could make a decision on his future after the tournament ends in July.
