French giants Lyon are interested in taking Mamadou Sakho from Crystal Palace this summer.

Lyon finished third in Ligue 1 this season, meaning they have Champions League football on the agenda for next term, while they could also enjoy a significant influx of funds from selling Nabil Fekir to Liverpool.

Les Gones coach Bruno Genesio is eyeing strengthening his defence and, according to French daily Le Progres, has set his sights on Crystal Palace centre-back Sakho.

Sakho helped the Eagles to avoid relegation from the Premier League this term despite a poor opening under former boss Frank de Boer.

He is under contract at Selhurst Park until the summer of 2021 and it is unclear whether Palace boss Roy Hodgson will consider parting with him.
