Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti has met super agent Kia Joorabchian to discuss the possibility of signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele.

The 30-year-old midfielder has a year left to run on his current deal and has so far refused to sign a new contract with the north London club.

Tottenham are prepared to sell him this summer if he does not sign a new deal, but Dembele is unlikely to make a decision on his future before the end of the World Cup.

There has been considerable interest in the Belgian because of his contract situation and it seems he could be courting offers from one of the Serie A giants this summer.

According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli coach Ancelotti discussed the possibility of signing Dembele from Tottenham with super agent Joorabchian during a meeting in London on Friday.

The super agent does not represent the midfielder, but he has a good relationship with Frank Trimboli, the Tottenham midfielder’s agent.

Ancelotti is hoping to use Joorabchian as an intermediary as he looks to assess whether Dembele will be interested in moving to Napoli this summer.

However, the new Napoli coach might have to wait until the end of the World Cup to get an answer from Dembele over a possible move to Italy.
