La Liga duo Real Betis and Villarreal have become the latest clubs to join the hunt for Newcastle United target Stefano Sturaro.

The midfielder's future at Italian champions Juventus is unclear amid interest from a number of sides in his services.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has been linked with wanting Sturaro at St. James' Park, while Genoa have made no secret of their desire to sign a player who had a spell on loan at the club in the 2014/15 campaign.

Now there is further interest in Sturaro as, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, La Liga pair Real Betis and Villarreal are keen.

Villarreal and Real Betis finished in fifth and sixth place in La Liga, respectively, meaning they have both qualified for next season's Europa League.
