Liverpool have reached an agreement with Monaco for midfielder Fabinho after holding talks with the Ligue 1 heavyweights on Monday evening.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp wants to act quickly following the disappointment of losing his sixth straight final and third with Liverpool after defeat against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Saturday night.

The German wants to land Fabinho from Monaco and Liverpool have been working on a deal.

Now they have found an agreement as they close in on taking the Brazilian defensive midfielder to Anfield.

According to French radio station RMC, Liverpool will pay €50m plus bonuses for the 24-year-old.

Personal terms are not expected to present an issue for Liverpool as Fabinho is claimed to be keen to play under Klopp on Merseyside.

Monaco signed the midfielder, who is also able to operate as a full-back, from Real Madrid, initially on loan, before then signing him on a permanent basis in 2015.
