Liverpool are prepared to make a shock move for Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha in the ongoing summer transfer window, it has been claimed.

Following Loris Karius’ disastrous performance in the Champions League final, Jurgen Klopp is under pressure to bring in a new number one before the start of the season.

Roma’s Alisson and AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma are rumoured to be on Liverpool’s radar, but there are suggestions that another Serie A goalkeeper has emerged as a target for the club.

According to Italian outlet CittaCeleste.it, Liverpool are preparing to table an offer for Lazio goalkeeper Strakosha this summer and look to take him to England.

Signed from Greek outfit Panionios in 2012, the 23-year-old Albanian shot-stopper has established himself as Lazio’s first choice between the sticks.

His performances have made an impact on Liverpool’s recruitment team and it has been claimed that the Reds are ready to fire off a €30m offer for the goalkeeper this summer.

While Lazio were not anticipating losing the player in the ongoing window, the club would likely consider a bid of such magnitude if Liverpool eventually make a move.

Strakosha made his debut for Albania last year and has five international caps to his name.
