Marcus Antonsson's agent has admitted that his client is attracting serious interest amid uncertainty over his future at Leeds United.

The Yorkshire giants sent Antonsson on a season-long loan to Blackburn Rovers last summer after deeming him surplus to requirements and he impressed at Ewood Park as he helped the side earn instant promotion back to the Championship.

He is still firmly under contract at Elland Road, but his future at Leeds is unclear and amid the uncertainty, he is attracting serious interest from Swedish clubs.

Malmo and Hammarby are keenest on taking Antonsson home, but the striker's agent does not know what the summer has in store for his client yet.

Anders Karlsson told Fotboll Direkt: "Yes, interest is great in Marcus.

"But [as of] today we do not know what Leeds want and he has a year left on his contract."

The striker's agent does expect the situation to become clear soon though.

"I think in a month we will know more", Karlsson added.

Antonsson was shipped out of Leeds when Thomas Christiansen was in the dugout as head coach, but the former APOEL boss was sacked in February and succeeded by Paul Heckingbottom.

However, Heckingbottom's position at Leeds is now in serious doubt, despite the former Barnsley manager not having been given a single transfer window to reshape the squad to his liking.
