Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has emerged as a possible goalkeeping target for Liverpool in the ongoing summer window.

Following Loris Karius’ pitiful performance in the Champions League final, Jurgen Klopp has been forced to consider the option of signing a goalkeeper in the coming months.

Goalkeepers such as Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, Roma’s Alisson and AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma are believed to be on Liverpool’s shortlist of targets this summer.

And according to Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo, one more goalkeeper has been added to their wishlist as the Reds are also eyeing a move for Barcelona’s number 2 goalkeeper Cillessen.

Barcelona are yet to receive any official approach from Liverpool, but the Merseyside giants are claimed to be seriously considering signing the Dutchman.

Cillessen joined Barcelona from Ajax in 2016 and has a release clause worth €60m in his contract with the Catalan giants.

The Dutchman, who played just ten games last season, recently vented his frustration at not getting enough opportunities at the Nou Camp.

Barcelona are not prepared to sell the player and therefore the Reds may have to trigger his release clause should they want Cillessen at Anfield next season.
