Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has been keeping close tabs on Barcelona winger and Liverpool target Ousmane Dembele, but the Catalan giants are unlikely to sell him.

Barcelona paid a massive transfer fee of €105m plus another €40m in bonuses to snare the French winger away from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

Dembele’s first season at the Nou Camp has not been a roaring success and he did struggle with injuries, leading to speculation over his future at Barcelona this summer, with Jurgen Klopp linked with wanting him at Liverpool.

Mislintat, who recruited Dembele at Dortmund, remains a big fan of player and according to French sports daily L’Equipe, he has been in constant touch with the youngster.

It has been claimed that he is trying to position Arsenal as potential suitors for the winger, if Dembele decides to leave Barcelona in the near future.

His former Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel has also been keeping an eye on the Frenchman and is interested in taking him to the French champions Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

However, Barcelona have no interest in selling him and are adamant that they recruited Dembele for big money because they see a long term future for him at the club.

The Frenchman is also keen on continuing at the Nou Camp and has not been angling for a move.
