Inter are not expecting to encounter any problems agreeing personal terms with Mousa Dembele, but are aware that negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur could be long and hard.

The 30-year-old’s current contract with Tottenham expires at the end of next season and he has so far refused to sign a new contract with the north London club.

The midfielder is considering leaving the club this summer and it has been claimed that Dembele is angling towards a move to Italy, where he has a number of suitors.

Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti has probed the possibility of signing the midfielder, but for the moment Inter have been putting in all the legwork to sign him.

Inter officials were reportedly in London earlier this week for talks with Tottenham and have been informed that Spurs won’t accept an offer less than €30m for Dembele.

The Nerazzurri are also aware of the player’s €4.5m per year salary and according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, they are not expecting to struggle to agree a contract with the Belgian.

But for the moment negotiations with Tottenham have been difficult as chairman Daniel Levy has shown little indication that he will lower the asking price for the midfielder.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is yet to make a final decision on Dembele, but Inter are hopeful that the midfielder’s will to move to Italy will help during negotiations with Spurs.
