Newcastle United Loan Flop Islam Slimani Wanted By Saudi Arabian Side

Islam Slimani, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Newcastle United from Leicester City, is wanted in Saudi Arabia by Al-Hilal FC.

The former Sporting Lisbon striker's future is up in the air after his loan at the Magpies ended with him having made little to no impact at St. James' Park.

Jorge Jesus, who had Slmani at Sporting Lisbon and is claimed to be close to taking over at Al-Hilal, wants to take the striker with him to Saudi Arabia, according to Saudi daily Aleqtisadiah.

Al-Hilal are soon expected to make an approach in an attempt to kick off talks on a deal for Slimani.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce also hold an interest in the striker, who is under contract at Leicester until 2021.

Slimani made just four Premier League appearances for Newcastle during the course of his loan spell, turning out against Huddersfield, Arsenal, Everton and West Brom.

He did not score for the Magpies.

The striker, who has just eight goals in the Premier League to his name since arriving in the league, may be attracted by a big money move to Saudi Arabia.
