Inter are set to offer Joao Mario to Tottenham Hotspur as part of a deal to take Mousa Dembele to the San Siro this summer.

The Belgian midfielder has emerged as Inter’s priority midfield target but they have been unable to convince Tottenham to lower their asking price from the €30m mark.

Inter are not expecting to struggle to find an agreement over personal terms with the player as he is believed to be considering a transfer to Italy this summer.

Negotiations with Tottenham have been slow moving and it has been claimed Inter are prepared to offer a player to Spurs as a makeweight to get the deal over the line.

According to Italian daily Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri are set to offer Portuguese midfielder Mario as part of negotiations to take Dembele to the San Siro in the ongoing window.

The Portuguese spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham and along with the Hammers, a clutch of Premier League clubs are interested in signing the midfielder.

Mario is not averse to the idea of joining Tottenham and would consider an offer from Spurs this summer.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham show any willingness to sign the Portuguese this summer as part of Dembele's transfer to Inter.
