Manchester United have pushed their way into the reckoning for the signature of Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet, who has been a Barcelona target this summer.

The 22-year-old defender impressed many with his assured performances at back for Sevilla in the recently concluded season and has been linked with a move away from the club in the ongoing window.

Barcelona have identified him as one of their priority targets for the summer and have been working behind the scenes to make sure they take the Frenchman to the Nou Camp this summer.

It has been claimed Chelsea have also probed the possibility of signing the centre-back in the current window, but Barcelona are facing a stiffer competition from another Premier League heavyweight.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Manchester United are seriously considering taking Lenglet to Old Trafford as part of Jose Mourinho’s defensive reinforcements.
