Leeds United are intent on holding on to Kemar Roofe this summer despite interest from several rival clubs in the Championship.

The 25-year-old, who joined Leeds from Oxford United in 2016, scored eleven times in 36 Championship appearances last season and played a key role in the squad.

With Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival at Leeds, there is speculation over Roofe’s future at Leeds and there are clubs interested in signing him in the ongoing window.

There is talk of West Brom and Sheffield United keeping tabs on the attacker and even Blackburn have been linked with having an interest in the forward this summer.

However, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds’ intent is to keep Roofe at Elland Road beyond the end of the current transfer window.

With Leeds not making attacking signings yet, the club are unlikely to sanction any sales for key players such as Roofe and he remains part of their plans at the moment.

Roofe will look to impress Bielsa during pre-season and hope to continue to play an important part in the squad next season.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds’ plans for Roofe change if they make a few more signings in attacking areas.
