Liverpool Move Closer To Signing Xherdan Shaqiri, Personal Terms Almost Done

Liverpool are closing in on a transfer swoop for Stoke City winger Xherdan Shaqiri, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.

Shaqiri could do little to stop Stoke from sliding down to the Championship from the Premier League last season and is on his way out of the Potters this summer.

A good World Cup for Switzerland means Shaqiri still has top clubs eyeing him in the window despite his less than stellar record at Stoke over the last couple of campaigns.

Manchester United have been linked with having an interest in the player, but it has been claimed that at the moment Liverpool seems to be his likelier destination.

The Reds have been in talks with his representatives over a proposed move and according to Italian broadcasterr Sportitalia, they are close to agreeing terms on a contract with the Swiss winger.

Shaqiri remains keen on playing in the Premier League and his agents are close to striking a deal with the Merseyside giants.

Liverpool are also in talks with Stoke and are believed to be closing in on an agreement with the Potters over a fee for the winger.

The 26-year-old scored eight goals and provided seven assists during Stoke’s doomed Premier League campaign.
