Sporting Lisbon are interested in wantaway Arsenal striker Lucas Perez, but are not keen on meeting the Gunners' asking price for the Spaniard.

Perez is out of favour at Arsenal and spent last season on loan back in Spain with Deportivo La Coruna.

A number of clubs are interested in signing Perez and, according to Portuguese sports daily A Bola, Sporting Lisbon are in the mix.

However, it is claimed Arsenal are looking for €5m to let Perez go, a sum Sporting Lisbon are not keen on paying, while the striker's salary demands could also present an issue.

The 29-year-old joined Arsenal in 2016 from Deportivo La Coruna.

The Gunners splashed out around the €20m mark to take Perez to the Emirates Stadium.

But the Frenchman was given little in the way of chances by former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and headed back home in search of regular playing time.

Arsenal are now under new management in the shape of Unai Emery, but Perez still appears to be edging towards the exit door.
