Red Bull Salzburg have beaten off competition from Manchester United and Juventus for the signature of Molde youngster Erling Braut Haland, it has been claimed.

The 18-year-old striker has been catching the attention of scouts in the Norwegian league this season and has become a mainstay in the Molde team.

Scouts from clubs such as Manchester United and Juventus have been keeping close tabs on his performances with a view to snaring him away from Molde this summer.

Juventus even had an emissary negotiating a deal with the Norwegian outfit, but it seems Haland has decided to join a different club in the ongoing window.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Red Bull Salzburg have won the race to sign the 18-year-old striker and Haland is expected to join the Austrian outfit in the coming days.

Red Bull Salzburg are known for identifying and signing young players and it seems they have poached another youngster from under the noses of the big wigs of Europe.

It is unclear how much money the Austrian outfit are paying for Haland, but the striker is now set to complete a move to Red Bull Salzburg this summer.

The youngster is yet to break into the Norway senior side, but has been a regular for their Under-19 side.
