Roma sporting director Monchi has revealed that Arsenal linked midfielder Steven N’Zonzi is not the only midfielder the club are considering signing at the moment.

N’Zonzi wants to leave Sevilla this summer following winning the World Cup with France and has a number of clubs in Europe vying for his signature in the ongoing window.

From England, Arsenal have been constantly linked with an interest in the former Stoke midfielder and even Everton are believed to be keen to take him to Merseyside.

Roma have been pushing to take N’Zonzi to England and Monchi’s close relationship with the Sevilla player is believed to be a key part of their strategy to sign the Frenchman.

However, the Roma deal-maker insisted N’Zonzi is only one of the midfielders that the club are keeping tabs on at the moment and he is not close to joining the Giallorossi.

Asked about interest in N’Zonzi, Monchi was quoted as saying by Italian outlet TuttoJuve: “We are talking a lot about him and many others.

“We are looking at the market for different roles, one of them being midfield.

"N’Zonzi is one of the names, but he is not the only one or even the closest one.

“It’s time for you to think about other names.”

N’Zonzi has a contract until 2020 with Sevilla.
