Roma sporting director Monchi has been in touch with the representatives of Tottenham Hotspur linked midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The 21-year-old French midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from Lyon this summer, with talk of a number of clubs in Europe keeping tabs on him.

He has generated big interest in the Premier League, with Tottenham believed to be keen on taking him to England in the ongoing transfer window.

Lyon, who took up the option of signing him on a permanent deal this summer for €8m, are not keen to lose the midfielder, but have been under pressure from a number of clubs.

And according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, Roma have also joined the sprint for Ndombele and are considering taking him to Italy this summer.

The Giallorossi are in the market for a midfielder and it has been claimed Roma deal-maker Monchi has been in talks with the Frenchman’s entourage over a proposed switch.

Roma have also been interested in another Frenchman in the shape of Steven N’Zonzi, but the Sevilla midfielder is not their only target this summer.

Ndombele has a contract until 2020 with Lyon.
