AC Milan are set to press the accelerator to close out a deal for Chelsea wing target Bernard by the end of the day.

The Brazilian winger is available on a free transfer after he left Shakhtar Donetsk this summer and his agent has been in talks with several clubs over finding a new home for his client.

His representative has reportedly been in touch with Chelsea, but the Blues are keen to get an answer from him soon and have set a deadline until Tuesday for Bernard to make a decision.

The player is said to be preferring a move to AC Milan and his representatives have agreed a deal in principle with the Rossoneri over Bernard moving to the San Siro.

AC Milan sporting director Leonardo has been sitting on the agreement, but according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, he is set to press the gas to get the deal over the line by the end of the day.

The Rossoneri deal-maker is aware of Chelsea’s Tuesday deadline and is now prepared to close out the agreement with Bernard and his representatives today.
