According to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Chelsea have never been keen on selling their star man this summer to Real Madrid and are set to hold on to him for next season.
The Blues have never entertained any negotiations or talks for Hazard’s possible departure and their doggedness is set to pay off as the Belgian prepares for one more campaign at Stamford Bridge.
With the transfer window slamming shut for Premier League clubs on Thursday, time has run out for Hazard, who has been unwilling to force things, to find a way out of Chelsea and allow the club to bring in a replacement.
However, he has so far refused to agree to an extension to his current contract, which expires in 2020.
