Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has rejected the claim his side are out of the race for Yerry Mina, with the Colombian heading to Everton.

The Toffees are claimed to have an agreement with Barcelona for Mina on the basis of a €32m fee.

It is also claimed Mina has agreed a five-year deal with the Premier League club and is closing in on a switch to Goodison Park.

But Aulas has rejected thoughts that it is all over for Lyon in the race to land the Colombia World Cup star and says Mina is keen on his side.

Reacting to a report claiming Mina is Everton bound and a Lyon move is out, Aulas took to Twitter.

The French club's president wrote: "I do not think that 7 information is accurate.

"Yeri is still very interested in OL. [sic]

"We all want him to be at Lyon too, to play the Champions League at the GS", Aulas added.

Everton are in a rush to sign Mina due to Premier League clubs deciding to close their transfer window on Thursday.

Lyon however have much longer to do a deal, with the French transfer window only due to close on 31st August.
