Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has warned the club hierarchy against selling Paul Pogba this summer.

Pogba returned to training with Manchester United earlier this week following an extended break after the World Cup, but his future at the club has come under renewed focus.

He has reportedly agreed a contract with Barcelona and super agent Mino Raiola is trying to engineer a move away from Manchester United for the French World Cup winner.

Manchester United have rejected a cash plus players offer from Barcelona for the midfielder and have made it clear that they are not considering selling their star man this summer.

However, it has not doused the rumours and there are suggestions the Frenchman could leave Old Trafford if they somehow manage to get in a replacement before Thursday’s Premier League deadline day.

Ferdinand has insisted that Manchester United should do everything to kill off the speculation regarding Pogba as early as possible.

The Manchester United legend took to Twitter and wrote: “Don’t you dare allow this [Manchester United executive vice-chairman] Ed [Woodward].

“Manchester United is Pogba’s home!!

“Silence these rumours ASAP and get Toby Alderweireld through the door.”

Raiola is said to be in England, trying to convince Manchester United to sell Pogba.
