Huddersfield Town are close to completing a deal to sign Montpellier winger Isaac Mbenza going into the last two days of the transfer window.

With just two days left to do incoming deals, a raft of Premier League clubs are expected to be involved in frantic transfer activity, both at the top and bottom of the table.

Huddersfield, who surprised many by surviving in the Premier League last season, are keen not to rest on their laurels and are keen to bring in a few more fresh faces before Thursday’s deadline.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, they are closing in on a move for Montpellier’s 22-year-old winger Mbenza and are expected to get the deal over the line soon.

The French club were not intending to sell the Belgian this summer, but the Terriers made an aggressive move for him and tabled a €15m bid for Mbenza.

And it has been claimed that the two clubs are now close to reaching an agreement for the winger’s move to the Yorkshire outfit before Thursday’s deadline.

Once the deal is finalised, Mbenza will travel to England to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of the transfer.

The Belgian scored eight goals and provided an assist in 38 Ligue 1 appearances last season.
