Everton are closing in on a move for Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, who has been linked with Manchester United, after the Colombian missed training with the Catalan giants this morning.

The defender, who joined Barcelona in January, is closing in on the exit door at the Nou Camp as he looks increasingly to be on his way to the Premier League this summer.

Despite interest from Wolves and Manchester United, the Colombian is largely expected to join Everton before the transfer window for the Premier League closes on Thursday.

It has been claimed Barcelona allowed Mina to miss training today in anticipation of a move and according to Catalan daily Sport, the defender has agreed to a move to Everton this summer.

Everton have been in talks with Barcelona over signing the centre-back over the last several days and are reportedly putting the finishing touches to the deal.

However, a formal agreement is still missing and Mina is waiting for Barcelona to officially accept Everton’s €32m bid before he travels to England to complete the formalities of the transfer.

Everton and the Colombian are confident of the transfer going through and are not expecting Barcelona to put in any more roadblocks to the move.
