Tottenham Hotspur have slapped in a £25m bid for Aston Villa's Jack Grealish, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is desperate to land Grealish, but Villa have been hoping the attacker will stay put and so far their valuation has not been met.

But with the clock ticking down for Premier League clubs to make signings, Spurs have gone in for Grealish.

Tottenham have put £25m on the table for Grealish and are now waiting to see what Aston Villa's response to the offer is.

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has adopted a realistic stance on keeping hold of Grealish and admits that Champions League football would be a temptation for his player.

Spurs are under pressure to make signings, having not yet added to their squad this summer.

If Villa do sell Grealish to Spurs, they could still replace him after the Premier League window closes on 9th August.

EFL clubs can effectively still sign players, with loan deals and loan deals with a transfer set up to go through in January still available to be done until the end of the month.
