Jack Grealish has not given up hope of joining Tottenham Hotspur before Thursday’s deadline despite feeling disillusioned at Aston Villa’s stance, according to Sky Sports News.

The 22-year-old winger is keen on a move to Tottenham and was under the impression that Aston Villa would allow him to join Spurs once they received an acceptable offer.

But Aston Villa, under new owners, have done a volte face and have decided against selling their most prized asset after rejecting a £25m offer from the north London club.

It is understood the club’s decision has left the winger disillusioned and he is unhappy that Aston Villa are going against the promise them made to him earlier in the summer.

The Midlands club are said to have given assurances to Grealish that he would be allowed to leave before new owners took charge of the club last month.

However, the winger has not given up on joining Tottenham this summer and is still hopeful of forcing his way of out of Aston Villa by Thursday’s transfer deadline.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to put in more effort and bids in the coming hours to take Grealish away from Aston Villa in time.

Aston Villa are claimed to have rejected other offers from top Premier League clubs for the winger this summer.
