Aston Villa have decided not to sell Jack Grealish this summer, despite a bid from Tottenham Hotspur, leaving Spurs fans reacting to the situation on social media.
Tottenham tabled a £25m bid for the winger, which Aston Villa quickly turned down. The Championship side are prepared to dig their heels until the closing of the Premier League transfer window at 5pm on Thursday.
Grealish has emereged as one of Spurs' priority targets, but with claims of Aston Villa executive chairman Nassef Sawiris wanting to hold on to the player, it seems difficult for the move to happen. Spurs fan and Twitter user Melvin described the transfer window as a 'MESS' with Lee Roy grasping for words after the rejection from Villa.
So Grealish won’t be joining our squad. This transfer window has been a MESS!#COYS #THFC

If the #Grealish rumours are true I'm lost for words.#levythechancer#COYS

Luke Griffiths too was left speechless after being sure all summer of the transfer going through.
I literally have no words, all the hype all summer about Grealish I was sure it was going to happen! ?#COYS #THFC

Robbo on the other hand blaimed Spurs chairman Daniel Levy for the failure to secure the 22-year-old's services, stating how important it was to make a 'statement' in the transfer window.
Anyone who's happy with levy needs a good looking at. This was our window to make a statement and get that marque signing. We will never win anything with that man at the helm. Offering 3million plus onamah for grealish is insulting.#levyout #COYS #THFC

Jason Snell on the other hand thinks Levy has got a taste of 'his own medicine', while Jamie Morrison suggested an outlandish last minute move for Frenchman Nabil Fekir.
Meanwhile, Aidan is clearly disappointed and put out a threat of his own to the club.
Grealish saga is all about a hard up championship side trying to rip off a champions league team for another few more quid Levy been doing this for years getting some of his own medicine now #THFC #COYS

Seems like the move for Grealish isn't going to happen. Why not make a last minute move for Fekir? 60mill should get him and that would show the fans and other clubs that we mean business! #THFC #Spurs #COYS #Fekir

@SpursOfficial if we miss out on Grealish or Zaha you can forget about me dining in the cheese room at the new stadium next month! #COYS
