Aston Villa have decided against selling Jack Grealish this summer despite a bid from Tottenham Hotspur ahead of Thursday’s Premier League transfer deadline, according to Sky Sports News.

Grealish has emerged as one of Tottenham’s priority signings going into the last 24 hours of so of the summer top flight window and the club are keen to take him to London.

Tottenham have tabled a £25m bid for the winger, which Aston Villa wasted little time in rejecting, but Spurs have been hopeful of reaching an agreement with the Championship club.

But it seems Spurs could struggle to get Grealish to London as Aston Villa have come to the conclusion that they will not be selling the winger.

It has been claimed that new Aston Villa executive chairman Nassef Sawiris has decided to keep hold of the player despite interest from several clubs in the Premier League.

There are suggestions Aston Villa have rejected multiple offers from other big clubs for Grealish and are prepared to dig their heels in until 5pm on Thursday, when the window for the Premier League will slam shut.

Steve Bruce admitted earlier this week that the Villa owners are facing a tough few days ahead in their fight to keep the 22-year-old winger and it seems the club are not relenting.

It remains to be seen whether Grealish looks to force the issue by handing in a transfer request in the next 24 hours.
