Tottenham Hotspur are in talks to loan left-back Danny Rose to Bundesliga club Schalke, according to Sky Sports News.

Spurs have been keen to offload Rose this summer and the defender could be continuing his career in the Bundesliga, albeit on a temporary basis.

Schalke are looking to land Rose and will hope they can tempt him to make the move to Germany.

Tottenham have yet to sign a single player in the transfer window so far and with the Premier League window closing on Thursday at 5pm, are up against it to change that.

Schalke are not under the same pressure as the German window remains open until the end of the month.

And so Rose could make the move to Germany long after the Premier League window shuts, as Bundesliga clubs continue to strengthen their squads.

The 28-year-old made just 17 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham last season.

Schalke finished second in the Bundesliga last term and as a result Rose would have the chance to play Champions League football for the Ruhr giants.
