Genk have not received an offer from Tottenham Hotspur for their defensive midfielder Sander Berge yet, despite speculation Spurs are keen on the Norwegian.

Tottenham are yet to sign a single player this summer despite Mauricio Pochettino insisting at the end of last season that the club need to show more intent in the market.

Spurs are hopeful of making additions before the window slams shut for Premier League clubs to make signings on Thursday evening and midfield is where the club are believed to be eyeing players for in the final 24 hours of the window.

And there are claims that Tottenham are interested in signing 20-year-old Norwegian midfielder Berge from Genk before the window slams shut.

But it seems no concrete move has been made yet as according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Genk are not aware of any incoming offers from Tottenham for their player.

A midfielder enforcer with nine caps for Norway, Berg joined Genk from Valerenga in January last year and has attracted attention with his performances in the Belgian league.

Tottenham are believed to be keen but for the moment it seems they have not acted on their interest in the defensive midfielder.

However, time is running out for Spurs to conduct any incoming business and add to a squad that finished third in the Premier League last season.

Meanwhile, Sevilla remain keen on Berge and the Spanish transfer window is open until the end of the month.
