AC Milan want Chelsea to bear a percentage of Tiemoue Bakayoko’s salary as they look to get a deal over the line for the French midfielder.

The two clubs have been in talks over the midfielder’s proposed move to Italy and they are believed to be close to reaching an agreement for his transfer.

AC Milan are expected to sign the midfielder on loan this summer with an option to buy him on a permanent contract for a fee worth €35m at a later date.

His agent was in Milan yesterday for talks with the Rossoneri and the player is believed to be keen on moving to Italy as he is unlikely to get too many opportunities at Chelsea next season.

However, AC Milan are unwilling to meet his wage demands and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, they want Chelsea to bear a percentage of his salary during his loan period.

Bakayoko earns around €6.5m at Chelsea at the moment and the Rossoneri are not in a financial positon to pay such a sum to the Frenchman.

There is a willingness amongst the stakeholders to get a deal over the line and AC Milan are hopeful of convincing Chelsea to pay part of his current wages.

Bakayoko joined Chelsea from Monaco for big money last summer but struggled to make an impact in his first season in England.
