Newcastle United are not in the hunt for Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck, who is being chased by Southampton, Everton and Fulham.

The former Manchester United man is a potential departure from the Emirates Stadium on the Premier League's deadline day and Newcastle have been linked as a possible destination.

However, according to BBC Newcastle, the Magpies are not in the hunt for Welbeck.

Rafael Benitez's side will not provide competition for Everton, Fulham and Southampton for the England international attacker.

It remains to be seen where Welbeck ends up in what could be a frantic deadline day for the forward.

But he does look set to leave Arsenal, with new Gunners boss Unai Emery having judged him surplus to requirements.

Arsenal signed the 27-year-old from Manchester United in 2014.

But Welbeck struggled to make the level of impact expected at Arsenal and could now be looking to get his career back on track at another club.
