Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is continuing to edge towards a move to AC Milan.

The Rossoneri want to take Bakayoko to the San Siro on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy and have been making steady progress, according to Italian daily Tuttosport.

Chelsea are overstocked in midfield following the arrivals of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic over the course of the Premier League summer transfer window.

With the Italian transfer window still open, Chelsea are ready to offload Bakayoko to the Rossoneri to trim their squad.

The French midfielder only joined Chelsea last summer in a £40m deal from Monaco.

He struggled to make an impact in midfield for the Blues however, who could only finish fifth in the Premier League.

New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri appears to have decided he can make do without Bakayoko for the forthcoming season.

It remains to be seen how quickly AC Milan will seal the deal.
