Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro, who was subject to interest from Leicester City, Newcastle United and West Ham United this summer, is set to move to Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.

The Italian champions wanted to sell Sturaro and all three Premier League sides reportedly put in offers to sign him.

But none satisfied Juventus, who held off saying yes to a sale in the hope they would be able to earn more from the midfielder's departure.

A move to the Premier League though is now out of the question until at least January, with the window having been shut by English clubs.

And Sturaro is instead moving to Portugal.

According to Sky Italia, the midfielder is to have a medical with Sporting Lisbon this afternoon before then signing for the club.

The move will be a loan switch and it is unclear if there is any option or obligation to buy included.

Sturaro was a bit part player at Juventus last season and will be looking to clock up regular game time during his spell in Portugal.
