The agent of Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has urged Napoli to make their move soon if they want to sign his client this summer.

Mignolet was second choice to Loris Karius last season at Anfield and the arrival of Alisson from Roma has pushed him further down the pecking order at Liverpool this season.

While Premier League clubs can no longer sign new players as their window closed on Thursday, they can still ship out talent until the end of the month, as no other country in Europe matched their 9th August closure date, and Mignolet is looking for a way out this summer.

The Belgian has emerged on Napoli’s radar as they look to step up efforts to sign a new goalkeeper and his agent, Nico Vaesen, indicated that Mignolet would consider a move to Italy.

However, the window for the Serie A clubs will close next Thursday and the goalkeeper’s agent admits that Napoli would have to table a bid soon if they want to take his client to the San Paolo this summer.

Vaesen told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli: “Mignolet likes Napoli and the admiration is not new.

“Napoli have enquired about the boy on several occasions in previous transfer windows.

“However, there is nothing guaranteed about his move to Napoli at the moment and we will have to wait for the next few days to see whether they will make an offer.

“Considering that the market will close soon, they will have to make a move soon if we want to further the negotiations for everyone to reach an agreement.”

Mignolet has a contract until 2021 with Liverpool and the Reds are demanding £12m for his signature.
