Sevilla are keen on signing Dedryck Boyata from Celtic and are confident they can knock the Bhoys down in terms of their financial demands.

Celtic have been hoping to keep hold of Boyata, but they are swimming against the tide, with the player eyeing a move on the back of his superb performances for Belgium at the World Cup.

Sevilla want to take Boyata to La Liga this summer and are confident they will not have to pay the £10m the Scottish champions want.

According to Spanish daily AS, Sevilla believe there are two factors which will let them knock Celtic's price down.

The Spanish side know that Boyata is now into the final year of his contract at Celtic, something Sevilla think works in their favour.

And they are also looking to use Boyata's desire to leave Celtic and make the move to help reduce the defender's price.

It is claimed that Boyata is keen to join Sevilla, and the Spanish side have until the end of the month to work on the deal.

Boyata, 27, joined Celtic from Manchester City in 2015.
