Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko could complete a loan move to AC Milan as soon as Monday.

The Blues are willing to let Bakayoko join AC Milan after swelling their midfield options over the summer, meaning the Frenchman is surplus to requirements under new manager Maurizio Sarri.

AC Milan are set to take Bakayoko to Italy on a season-long loan deal and with have a right to buy option set at around £35m, ready to be activated if the midfielder impresses at the San Siro.

The deal is close to happening and, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the agreement could even become official on Monday.

Chelsea swooped to snap Bakayoko up from Monaco last summer for a fee of £40m.

He was handed a long term contract and was viewed as the successor to Nemanja Matic, who was sold to Manchester United.

But Bakayoko struggled to make a big impact at Stamford Bridge.

And with Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic in through the door, there is no room for the Frenchman this season.
