Serie A outfit Fiorentina have confirmed that they have acquired West Ham youngster Edimilson Fernandes on a season-long loan deal.

La Viola will have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old featured in a total of 14 league games for West Ham last season, providing his team-mates with a lone assist.

The Swiss international arrived in England from Swiss side FC Sion in 2016 after a fee of ₤5m was agreed between the two clubs.

He has since played in a total of 48 matches for the Hammers and even managed his maiden senior goal for the club.

Confirming the news on their official website, the club said: "Edimilson Fernandes has signed for Italian Serie A side Fiorentina on a season-long loan."
