Marseille have not given up hope on the possibility of signing Olivier Giroud from Chelsea by the end of the month.

Giroud remained an unused substitute in Chelsea’s win over Huddersfield Town at the weekend and his future at the club remains open to much conjecture.

Chelsea didn’t sign a centre-forward during the summer window and decided to loan out Michy Batshuayi to Valencia for the season, signaling their intention to keep the Frenchman.

Marseille have long held an interest in the former Arsenal man, but Giroud is nether interested in a move back to France nor has been keen to leave Chelsea.

But according to French magazine Le 10 Sport, the Ligue 1 giants remain in the hunt for him and could make another offer before the end of the transfer window this month.

Marseille are looking to bring in a striker and are considering other options in the market because of Giroud’s reluctance to return to France.

However, if they fail to sign another centre-forward, the club are expected to try their luck with the Chelsea striker again before the end of the window.

But with the Premier League window closed, Chelsea may be unlikely to entertain any offers for the striker.
