Lille have not made any concrete move for Stoke City midfielder Giannelli Imbula, despite showing an interest in signing him.

The midfielder was loaned out to Toulouse last summer after it became clear he had no future at Stoke despite the club paying big money to sign him in 2016 from FC Porto.

The midfielder has returned to Stoke at the end of last season, but the player is prepared to leave the club, especially with the Potters relegated from the Premier League.

However, Imbula’s future is yet to be determined and despite interest from France, nothing concrete has developed over the last few weeks.

Lille are interested in signing a midfielder and according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Imbula is one of the players who features on their shortlist of targets.

The French outfit considered the possibility of signing the Stoke midfielder last week, but for the moment they have not made any more concrete moves.

It remains to be see whether Lille return to the track leading to Imbula towards the end of the month if they don’t sign anyone soon.

He has a contract until 2021 with Stoke.
