Tottenham Hotspur have a fortnight to decide whether they will be able to host Manchester City at their new stadium at the end of October, according to the Times.

Spurs were originally slated to unveil their new the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Liverpool next month, but plans have changed over the last week.

The club have failed to come through safety and security concerns yet and Tottenham will be playing at Wembley until they are prepared to get the green light for their new stadium.

The north London club are eyeing a showpiece game to unveil their brand new home ground and their next target is believed to be the Manchester City game.

And it has been claimed Tottenham have a little over two weeks to confirm whether they will be able to play the Premier League champions at their new stadium.

The League and Safety Advisory Group normally approve broadcast matches about six weeks prior but for this instance, they want an answer by the end of the month.

The club have already shifted home games against Liverpool on 15th September and Cardiff City on 6th October to Wembley because of issues with the “critical safety system”.

But the Manchester City game cannot be played at Wembley as it will be staging an NFL match and Tottenham are in talks with the Premier League to explore other venues and alternate dates.
