Cagliari are probing the possibility of signing Liverpool centre-back Ragnar Klavan on the final day of the transfer window in Italy.

The 32-year-old centre-back has dropped down the pecking order of defenders at Anfield and is unlikely to play many games at Liverpool this season.




Fenerbahce are interested in signing the Estonian on a loan deal and Liverpool are believed to be prepared to let him leave, with Jurgen Klopp happy with his options at the back.

There is also talks of the former Augsburg defender returning to Germany this summer and it has been claimed that Klavan is also attracting interest from Italy.
 


According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Cagliari are testing the water regarding Klavan and are interested in doing a last minute deal for the Liverpool defender.

The transfer window in Italy will slam shut at the end of the day and the Serie A outfit are eying Klavan as a possible last minute addition to their defence.

According to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, the Serie A outfit are close to agreeing a deal to sign the Liverpool defender.

Klavan has entered the final year of his contract with the Merseyside giants.
