Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has poured cold water on talk that striker Dominic Solanke could move on loan to Rangers.

Solanke has been tipped to head away from Anfield at some point this month on a loan deal, as he looks to secure regular first team football this season.

The striker is well down the pecking order at Anfield and a move to Rangers, with Gerrard using his Liverpool connections to good effect, has been mooted.

Klopp was asked in a press conference whether, in light of links with Rangers, he would consider letting Solanke leave Anfield on loan.

The Reds boss insists he is not keen on discussing whether he might loan a player out in a press conference, while also claiming it is the first occasion he has heard the Rangers link for Solanke.

"Nothing to say about to be honest", Klopp said.

"I don't want to discuss this, things like this in general, in a press conference.

"I hear it first time now. So it doesn't look like it's close to happening.

"Nothing to say about that", the Reds boss added.

Klopp has a host of attacking options to pick from this season and, along with Solanke, Divock Origi has also been linked with a loan switch away from Anfield; the Belgian spent last term on loan at Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
