West Ham striker Javier Hernandez insists that the club's fans are great and he is desperate to play in front of them at the London Stadium.

The 30-year-old came on as a late second half substitute to replace new boy Felipe Anderson as his team succumbed to a 4-0 defeat in their very first game of the season against Liverpool last weekend.

The match against Bournemouth this Saturday will give the Hammers a chance to bounce back, an occasion made even more special by the fact that it will be the first time Manuel Pellegrini will manage the club in Premier League action at the London Stadium.

Hernandez is one player who is keenly waiting for the match as it will give him the chance to play in front of the West Ham fans.

"The West Ham fans are great", Hernandez told his club's official website.

"I’m desperate to play in front of them again and we have a big, big chance to take three points against a very good team."

Their opponents on Saturday, Bournemouth, arrive on the back of a 2-0 win over Cardiff City and the former Manchester United striker knows that the game will be tough.

“Bournemouth got a very good result in their last game and it will be tough, but it will be nice to be back in London Stadium and hopefully we can take the win.”

Hernandez joined West Ham in July last year and has so far managed 34 appearances, scoring eight goals.
