Inter are considering not selling Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United linked midfielder Joao Mario this summer amidst suggestions that he is refusing to entertain an offer from Besiktas.

The midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham and was believed to be keen to return to the London Stadium for another stint with the Hammers.

West Ham were linked with wanting Mario back, but no move materialised and he did not join the Manuel Pellegrini era despite the club showing an interest in signing the Portuguese.

He was also linked with a move to Tottenham, but the Premier League window ended without Spurs making any serious play to take him back to the Premier League.

But according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Premier League clubs could have another stab at signing him in January as Inter are considering keeping him in the squad this summer.

Barring clubs from England and Italy, most of Europe can sign players until the end of the month and Mario is attracting interest from Turkey.

Besiktas have made an offer to sign him, but the midfielder is not interested in considering it and is prepared to stick it out at Inter.

And with no real solutions on the horizon, Inter are considering keeping Mario in Luciano Spalletti’s squad beyond the end of the transfer window.
