Manchester United linked midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has reached an agreement over a new contract with Lazio.

The Serbian was on the lips of all major clubs during the summer transfer window and Lazio were prepared to sell the player if any of his suitors were ready to accept their high financial demands.

The Serie A giants were said to be asking for a fee in the region of €120m to €150m and none of the clubs came close to making an offer close to their asking price.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito is claimed to have rejected offers for Milinkovic-Savic and he is unlikely to leave the club before the end of the month.

And according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, the midfielder’s representatives have reached an agreement over a new contract with Lazio for the 23-year-old Serbian.

The two sides have agreed a new deal worth €3.5m per year and the club are expected to make an announcement soon.
