Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is still on the lookout for a centre-back before the transfer deadline on Friday night.

Rodgers is tipped to make Youssouf Mulumbu his fifth signing of the summer, alongside Odsonne Edouard, Emilio Izaguirre, Scott Bain and Daniel Arzani, who joined on loan from Manchester City.

According to the Daily Record, Celtic’s summer deals might not end there as Rodgers continues to remain interested in landing a centre-back, with uncertainty surrounding Dedryck Boyata’s future at the club.

The Belgian, who refused to sign a new contract with the club, looks destined to leave Celtic Park and the injury sustained by Marvin Compper has forced Rodgers to seek reinforcements before the deadline.

The Bhoys had a bid rejected for Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna earlier this month and they have been claimed to be keen on Stoke City man Moritz Bauer.

The Austrian international recently signed a five-year extension with the Potters, but Bauer is currently fighting it out with Cuco Martina and Tom Edwards for a regular place in the first team.
