Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis insists that Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has that much needed experience to guide the Whites through a tough Championship season.

The sides placed first and second in the Championship table will face each other on Friday night at Elland Road in a league match.

Both teams have the same points from the same number of matches this season, though goal difference separate them with the Whites having scored as many as 14 goals already and conceded just four.

Pulis, who is vastly experienced himself, insists that the Peacocks are lucky to have a man of Bielsa's stature at the helm.

Heaping further praise on the Argentine manager, the 60-year-old said that his counterpart is a top manager and knows all about the game.

Pulis also thinks that Bielsa is the right fit for Leeds.

"He is a top, top manager. He’s a top coach who knows the game, he’s very experienced, he knows what the game is all about", Pulis said at a press conference.

"He’s been at some big clubs and he has the experience to handle the situation there.

"And that’s what Leeds need, they need someone with the experience to ride the enthusiasm and potential there."

Middlesbrough beat Rochdale in the EFL Cup in midweek, while the Whites lost their match against Preston North End on Tuesday.
